Mary Jane Palmigiano was born and raised in Washington,
D.C., the sixth of seven children. After her mother’s passing in
2003, she was seeking a way to deal with her grief. Always being
a spiritual person and curious about yoga, she decided to
take a chance and attend a class. Mary Jane had an immediate
connection during her first yoga experience. She has now attended
yoga classes throughout the United States. Through the years as the connection
grew, she wanted to share this blessing with others and become a teacher.
When the opportunity presented itself, Mary Jane did not hesitate to seize the moment.
Mary Jane studied yoga at Satchidananda Ashram (Yogaville) in Buckingham,
Virginia, graduating with her 200 RYT certification in February 2011. Mary Jane continues
to study various aspects of yoga along with teaching Lunchtime Yoga, Gentle
Yoga, Yoga Level I and II, Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga, Pilates and Yogalates; and is also
a certified Yin Yoga Instructor, certified Laughing Yoga Instructor, certified Restorative Yoga Teacher, and a certified Adaptive Yoga Teacher.
Mary Jane quickly found that one of the joys gained from teaching yoga goes far beyond
just the mat time. Being able to enjoy and learn from sharing knowledge and
experiences with students brings both peace and bliss to life; and Yoga is a way of
life for her.
She has attended programs with Satya Greenstone, Cindi Lee, Meenakshi Angel Honig,
Wayne Dyer, Shaman Ross Bishop, Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda, Dani Vani
McGuire and Yogi Subhas Tiwari, plus many local professionals.
Mary Jane lives in Dunkirk, Maryland with her husband and their two
miniature schnauzer’s Nikki and Jazzy. They have one grown son, Nicholas, a graduate of the Maryland Institute of College of Art, who is a web designer and developer living in Baltimore, Maryland.
In her spare time, Mary Jane loves to travel, read, walk
her dogs, antique, spend time with friends and practice yoga. Jai!
