Swami Ramananda, C-IAYT, E-RYT500, is the Executive Director and President of the Integral Yoga Institute in San Francisco and a greatly respected senior teacher in the Integral Yoga tradition, who has been practicing Yoga for over 40 years. Swami Ramananda became a Swami in 1984 and he was directly trained by Sri Swami Satchidananda. He was previously the Director of the Integral Yoga Institute in New York City.

As the co-developer of the Integral Yoga Stress Management Teacher Training, Swami Ramananda trains Yoga teachers to bring Yoga in corporate, hospital and medical settings, and has taught mind/body wellness programs in many locations. He is a founding board member of the Yoga Alliance, and served on the Certification Committee of the IAYT, helping to develop the process for certifying Yoga Therapists.

Swami Ramananda has led over 100 teacher training programs in Basic, Intermediate, Stress Management and Raja Yoga, and taught more than 50 other Yoga trainings throughout the world. He was a founding member of Yoga for Peace, an organization of Yoga schools in NYC to practice in the name of peace on each anniversary of 9/11.

Through his devoted study of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, Swami Ramananda offers practical methods of integrating the ancient practices of Yoga into daily life, and coping with stress, anxiety and depression, and transforming the painful aspects of human experience into steps toward realizing our full potential, which he shares via his blog. His writing and poetry have been published in Integral Yoga Magazine, Yoga Journal, Yoga International, and Poetry of Yoga, Volume 1. Swami Ramananda has appeared in numerous videos on Yoga philosophy and stress management. His warmth, wisdom, and sense of humor have endeared him to many.

Tune In To Inner Stillness: Mantra Meditation

Practice mantra meditation to tune in to the stillness that resides within you.  When you want to listen to music, you know what to do—tune your radio to the right station and there it is, playing nonstop.

Recovering Natural Joy

Many of us think of joy as an experience we have when something special happens. We may plan specific activities, such as a vacation, some entertainment or dining out, that we think will bring us joy.

Gratitude: Feeling the Great-Fullness

Most of us spend a lot of time planning for or anticipating the future. Though it is natural to make plans that support our well-being, we tend to constantly look ahead thinking about what we need to be happy.
