In honor of Integral Yoga’s 50th anniversary, a publication titled Explore Integral Yoga was released which offers a comprehensive overview of this organization founded by Sri Swami Satchidananda in 1966. This elegant, full color magazine showcases Integral Yoga teachings, programs, and services. It also includes a timeline of Integral Yoga milestones over the past 50 years.

The 1960s and 1970s gave birth to a unique counterculture movement that rejected conventional American beliefs and a way of life that was prevalent at that time. Many young people found traditional approaches to spiritual life meaningless and rigid. They questioned the cultural values around drugs, relationships, work, and war.

SEATED cross-legged on a black cushion atop a yoga mat, I struggled to keep my eyes closed and repeat the Sanskrit mantra in my head: ham-sa - I am that.
