Monthly Weekly List Grid
December 2024
Hatha Mixed Level Class
Mondays with Kayko Rashmi Watanabe. Hatha poses are taught with options for beginners to advanced practitioners. The class is appropriate for anyone from beginner to established yogis. Class includes deep relaxation, pranayama (breathing practices) and meditation.
Level I Online
Level I (beginner) A slower-paced class based on the 12 foundational practices of Integral Yoga. The teacher offers clear yet concise instructions making this class appropriate not only for beginners but for those new to yoga.
Noon Meditation (Mondays)
Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays with IYISF Staff. Open meditation includes chanting, breathing practices and silence. It lasts about 35 minutes.
Multilevel Online
Multilevel (all levels are welcome) This class is offered with variations to help you find the pose that is the most comfortable for you.
In-Person Noon Meditation
Students experienced in meditating may join us for open meditation. Students unfamiliar with our meditation practice may wish to attend one of our Meditation I workshops before joining an open meditation. Meditations include chanting, kapalabhati, nadi suddhi, 15 to 20 minutes of silence, and closing chants. We ask that you be on time and remain until the end.
Gentle Yoga Online
Ease into the body in this low-impact class. Spine lengthening stretches and tension-releasing poses with slow, mindful transitions gently build strength and flexibility. A class for all students, including beginners, and those with special conditions, limitations, or injuries. Adaptations were available for each participant. We invite everyone to move, flow and feel comfortable in their own bodies. Chairs are available for use.
Joint Freeing Yoga Class
Mondays with Bernadette Milan. This is a mat based class in which participants practice a joint freeing series as well as gentle strengthening work. We use props such as blocks, straps, blankets and cushions to help us with our goals and make adjustments to keep our bodies comfortable. If students bring a pair of tennis balls we can also add some self massage. There is a strong emphasis on functional movement and listening to and honoring messages from the body. Unique modifications are offered to participants who may be practicing with pain and/or recovering from injury. Therapeutic Yoga honors the Integral Yoga class format, including the subtle practices of deep relaxation, breathing and meditation.
Level II Online
Level II (intermediate) class allows for a deeper experience of yoga by encouraging the students to develop their awareness of the sensations of the body, the movement of the breath, and the flow of their energy (prana). The goal is to discover good alignment from the inside out by connecting with the inner intelligence within the body.
